Energizing smoothie / Batido energético

Sunday mornings aren´t just for resting, there are many things to do as studying, cleaning up the house, do the laundry...but remember to do this always with a big smile!!!! 

We consider ourselves as a co-op so everybody is involved in the home duties, even Sam dusts wonderfully the tables (and dangerously everything on it) with his tail...hehehe. ;D

In order to help our energy boosting we start the day with this energizing smoothie.

Los domigos por la mañana no son sólo para descansar, hay muchas cosas que hacer como estudiar, limpiar la casa, hacer la colada...pero recuerden hacerlo siempre con una gran sonrisa!!!

En casa somos una cooperativa así que todos participamos en las tareas, incluso Sam y su cola hacen un fantástico trabajo limpiando el polvo de las mesas (y peligrosamente lo que haya encima de las mismas)...jijijijiji ;D

Y para darnos un empujoncito empezamos el día con un batido energético.

Ingredients for two superglasses:

250 gr. papaya
1 banana
5 or 6 (1/4 cup) nuts
5 or 6 (1/4 cup) prunes
1 tbsp. raw maca powder
500 ml. (2 cups) oat milk

* Buy organic ingredients as far as possible.


1. Mix all the ingredients in a food processor during 2 minutes approximately or until smooth. 

Of course, the amount of ingredients can be changed to personal taste, maybe you prefer more nuts or substitute prunes for dates...everything is fine ;D

Ingredientes para dos súper vasos:

250 gr. papaya
1 plátano
5 ó 6 (1/4 taza) nueces
5 ó 6 (1/4 taza) ciruelas pasas
1 cucharada de maca en polvo cruda
500 ml. de leche de avena 

* Utiliza ingredientes orgánicos lo más posible.

1. Mezclar todos los ingredientes en el robot de cocina o la Thermomix durante 2 minutos o hasta que se vea homogéneo.

Por supuesto, las cantidades de los ingredientes se pueden variar al gusto de cada uno, quizás prefieran más nueces, o sustituir las ciruelas por dátiles... todo vale... ;D

Carnival / Carnaval

A couple of weeks ago we celebrated Carnival. It´s a big celebration here on the islands. Thousands of people of all ages enjoying music all day and all night long dressed in the most varied costumes.

Hace unas semanitas celebramos el Carnaval. Es una gran fiesta colorida en cada una de las islas. Miles de personas de todas las edades disfrutando de bailes en la calle de día y de noche con disfraces de lo más variado.

Luckily, there are concerts during the day for those of us who aren´t used anymore to stay until late in the night dancing on the street... ;D. It´s called Daylight Carnival and it´s so much fan.

As you see we became the "critters family": a bee, a ladybird (my dear friend Laurie told me that it´s called a ladybug in the US) and a unicorn:

Por suerte, también hay conciertos durante el día para aquellos de nosotros que ya no estamos acostumbrados a estar bailando hasta altas horas de la noche jijijiji ;D. Es el llamado Carnaval de día y nos lo pasamos genial disfrazados de "familia bichitos": una abeja, un sarantontón y un unicornio...

It´s Carnival, so nobody will find it strange if a ladybird walks the doggies... except the doggies themselves who looked hubby in a strange way and I could swear Sam grinned while looking such indumentary and wig... ;D

Al ser Carnaval nadie se extraña por ver a un sarantontón sacando a los perris de paseo...excepto ellos mismos que miraban extrañados a maridín y juraría haber visto a Sam sonreir mientras miraba tremenda indumentaria y peluca... ;D
